Michael was first introduced to the hospitality industry at the age of eleven when assisting his family after school operate their partnership properties by running towels and ashtrays and assisting whatever department needed it most. This was followed with hands on development and operations management with such companies as Hilton Worldwide; Wyndham Hotels & Resorts International; Best Western International; Extended Stay of America; Holiday Inn, and Choice Hotels International. He is now a thirty-year seasoned hotel and hospitality professional, and the Founder and Managing Partner of Thrasher Hotels & Resorts International, LLC. Michael has taken his nearly four decades of experience and training with and applied it to create a thriving real estate and luxury hospitality enterprise.
Michael’s management style is one with a very professional but relaxed, confident aura. He believes that to have a title doesn’t make one more important, it just makes them more responsible. He also believes you should always “Praise publicly and criticize privately.” Although his favorite aphorism: “I quit school because they had recess” suites his ambitious and progressive personality, his experiences have taught him that nothing important is achieved alone. It takes determination, communication, team-work, and the on-going efforts of everyone involved to make a business successful.
Now, after the rebound of the travel industry and an continuously upward movement of over thirty years of rewarding, intensive, and hands-on, limited-services and luxury hotel development and operations management experience, Michael now applies all he has learned throughout his unique lifetime experiences, corporate and management training, and formal education to pilot Thrasher Hotels & Resorts International, LLC to a very long and rewarding business venture for all.
Iwona V. Thrasher
Iwona V. ThrasherPartner & Executive Vice President of F&B Operations
A twenty-seven-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Iwona started her career in hospitality by attending a private hotel trade High School in Europe while still in her teens. During her five-year academic studies which focused directly on hotel and F&B operations, she also professionally interned in a number of four and five-star hotels and resorts with included a four-star mountains resort in Rytro, Poland, a five-star seaside Baltic Sea resort in Mielno, and the infamous Jan III Sobieski, a five-star hotel in Warsaw, Poland. She has also earned the highly sought-after designation as Certified Travel Guide and Planner for International Travel through the Poland Commission of Travel Guides and Planners. During her tenure Iwona has been in upper and mid-level managerial positions with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts Intl. (Ritz Carlton-Chicago), Hilton Hotels International, and Marriott Hotels International.
Iwona has always been loved by her employees and supervisors alike and brings a smart, sweet, but firm empathetic kindness to her management styles. Her work ethic is insurmountable along with her standards of service expectations and unwavering customer service standards due to her extensive trainings in the four and five-star sectors within her European internships and long tenure with the Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts unparalleled training and career enhancement programs.
Continuing her education while working and raising a family, Iwona studied International Business Management at the National-Louis University-Chicago where she maintained a 3.7 GPA and Honor Roll standing. She then moved forward to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with an Emphasis in Management & Leadership from the American Intercontinental University-Atlanta, Georgia-Online Baccalaureate Program. While at AIU she carried a consistent 4.0 GPA, was a member of the prestigious Honorary Dean’s List and graduated Magna Cum Laude within the top 10% in a graduating class of 387.
Iwona has now brought her extensive skills, trainings, and valuable knowledges to Thrasher Hotels & Resorts, International, LLC where she will utilize them to oversee the successful F&B operations of all properties within the THRI luxury portfolio.
